What to steal
- 01The index is deliberately plain — titles and thumbnails, no hero, no pitch. All the design budget goes into the toys.
- 02One idea per page. You understand it in ten seconds and can send it in one link.
- 03Each experiment gets its own typeface and palette, so nothing feels like a series of templates.
- 04Scale is the joke: the whole trick of Size of Space or Deep Sea is scrolling past what you expected to be the end.
Notes
The bar for a creative project on this site. Neal builds one-idea toys — scale, money, time — and lets each one look like nothing else he has made. The homepage refuses to sell them, which is what makes the list feel like a shelf of objects rather than a portfolio.
What I keep coming back to: none of these need an account, a tour, or an explanation. The interaction is the explanation.
