What to steal

  1. 01The index is deliberately plain — titles and thumbnails, no hero, no pitch. All the design budget goes into the toys.
  2. 02One idea per page. You understand it in ten seconds and can send it in one link.
  3. 03Each experiment gets its own typeface and palette, so nothing feels like a series of templates.
  4. 04Scale is the joke: the whole trick of Size of Space or Deep Sea is scrolling past what you expected to be the end.

Notes

The bar for a creative project on this site. Neal builds one-idea toys — scale, money, time — and lets each one look like nothing else he has made. The homepage refuses to sell them, which is what makes the list feel like a shelf of objects rather than a portfolio.

What I keep coming back to: none of these need an account, a tour, or an explanation. The interaction is the explanation.
